Dr. Helton comes full circle at Creekside; as a regular patient himself, he now joins the team treating his own patients. He returned to his hometown to join his own Dentist, Dr. Koehler. Dr. Helton takes time getting to know every patient and strives to make every patient’s experience a great one.

Service and Volunteering:
Dr. Helton regularly volunteers with Special Smiles, a program for Special Olympics athletes in Atlanta. He has also volunteered at multiple health clinics throughout Georgia including Augusta, Vidalia and Columbus. Dr. Helton has visited and donated treatment at the Georgia War Veterans nursing home in Augusta.
Dr Helton is from Grayson, GA and a graduate from Brookwood High School. At Brookwood, he was an eight time letterman between Track and Field, Cross country, and Wrestling. He attended Columbus State University where he ran NCAA Track and Field and Cross Country. At Columbus State, he was a two time All American and ran in the NCAA national championships twice. He graduated with Summa Cum Laude distinction and #1 in his class with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He was a member of Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society, National Society of Colligate Scholars, and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. At Columbus State, Dr. Helton was President of the University’s American Medical Student Association chapter. At Columbus, he was part of a mission trip to the Bahamas where he studied epidemiology on the island. He graduated dental school from the Medical College of Georgia with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree.
Dr. Helton has volunteered at the Augusta Health Clinic, Ben Massell Dental Clinic in Atlanta, Compassionate care clinic in Vidalia, Rochelle Family Dentistry in Rochelle GA, and the Columbus Health Clinic. He was also a volunteer at Georgia War Veterans nursing home in Augusta, Ga. He enjoys being active within the community, especially the running community, and also enjoys running local races and volunteering with Brookwood’s cross country team. Other hobbies include golf, mountain biking, and snow skiing.
